A Bright, White, Modern Home with Dashes of Primary Colour

For their 2016 colours, Benjamin Moore paints have taken real people's homes and transformed them with invigorating colour schemes to provide us all with some real inspiration. It's often difficult to visualise the impact of paint in a home when looking at paint swatches alone, and it's even harder to create a coherent look throughout, so these colour stories are sure to encourage us all to get out the brushes and see in the new year with a whole new look.

This home belongs to a digital designer and punctuating the predominately black and white rooms are high chroma accents that sharply define the modern and simple architecture. Pops of primary colour are combined with carefully placed black accents and white walls and surfaces, and create a very strong design statement.

A dash of banana yellow in the kitchen breaks into the crisp white of the cabinetry and worktops to create an energising setting whilst the intense yet deep tone of the blue perfectly complements the cool walls of the corridor and the opaque black frame of the front door.

Featuring graphic lines and opposing bright tones throughout the home, a ravishing red brings a warming energy to the dining space. Not only on the side wall but also outlining the large window, and beautifully framing the rural scenery. Sitting perfectly against the white walls and ceiling, the black contemporary dining chairs add that final touch of style.

Used either as focal points or accents, this home demonstrates how the use of colour with white, in well-considered proportions can be so successful. As white is cut with vivid colour, striking contrasts and bold lines outline the angles and edges in each room, taking a simple and pared back scheme to a new level.
