Beautiful art and sculpture by Cavendish Stone

Stone plinth and sculpture by Cavendish Stone I was looking through an old copy of House and Garden magazine at the weekend and came across Cavendish Stone.  All their products are sculpted, manufactured and hand aged in Somerset.

They employ a select group of skilled artists, sculptors and craftsman to fashion and age each product, but their closest relationship is with sculptor, Carn Standing, with whom they have worked with for the past 15 years.  Carn works in bonze and stone and has produced pieces for film, television and theme park settings as well as for private clients all over the world.

Cavendish stone - Lion

I love the full sized Empire Lion which has been sculpted in the style of Antonio Canova (1757-1822).  Sculpted in reconstituted Bath stone, this piece is available on or off the plinth.

Other animal sculptures include life sized dogs and the stag below.

One of my favourite pieces is this horse head.  I think it's the texture of the stone that gives it a bit more life.

As well as sculpture, Cavendish Stone make plinths, urns, furniture and features.  Here are a few examples...
