This week I'm delighted to feature a designer maker I've recently discovered called Amy Humphreys and her company, Amy Allwright Homeware.
And in the blog post, I'm showcasing a selection of her floral-inspired designs which include tea cosies, cushions, cafetiere cosies, tea towels and aprons (aka pinnies)...
Amy launched her company, Amy Allwright Homeware, after graduating from Loughborough University in Printed Textiles in 2011.
Her first product was a pinny inspired by Mary Poppins' Edwardian nanny apron and its popularity inspired her to design and make a full range of homeware.
Her debut collection, Elina, reflects her love of English Heritage, with a contemporary twist. And as well as delicately drawn floral designs, there are also prints of houses.
Amy's passion for making things began with a 'sew your own hippo bean bag' given to her for her fifth birthday present.
She currently designs her screen printed textiles and makes homeware products, by hand, from her attic studio in her home in Loughborough.
And she is also happy to take on commissions for bespoke projects. For example, in the past, she has made blinds and bags.
