CRATEive was set up recently in London as a green and sustainable design project. They specialise in re-purposing art crates that have finished their life cycle and, having travelled many miles to art fairs, galleries and clients around the world, come to retire in London. Each piece is worked on individually and carefully transformed into a desirable piece of contemporary furniture and each piece is absolutely unique. The furniture is not only beautiful, but also very solid and functional as art crates are extremely solid structures made of high-quality materials, designed to protect their valuable contents while being shipped to far-off places.
We love the interior of this bookcase which is decorated with pages from Nouveau Larousse Illustré dictionary from 1924.
And this blanket chest with its original red lettering.
Private commissions are also undertaken.
