Have you heard of RE:SOURCE Vintage? It is a social enterprise based in St Austell, Cornwall that has been operating in re-use since 2007. They strongly believe in making positive changes to their local community and the environment. Their ethos is that ‘everything deserves a second chance’ and that includes people as well as furniture!
RE:SOURCE offers training and work placements to people from a variety of different backgrounds, including Addaction service users, to help them build confidence, learn new skills and gain experience.
In today’s world there’s too much going to waste, so if there’s a perfectly good dining table heading for the dump then RE:SOURCE will want to save it. If someone wants to gain some work experience but doesn’t know where to start, RE:SOURCE will want to help. A fantastic enterprise that enables training opportunities for local people and then selling furniture that has so much more meaning.
RE:SOURCE Vintage also offer an online shop where you can buy a range of their up-cycled furniture. A choice between vintage chic, timeless classic and funky retro. What's more, there will also be opportunities to learn about furniture restoration and up-cycling techniques such as waxing, french polish, painting and stencilling via their workshops.
