SS14 Trend Preview: Defined Ombre

Graduating Colour : Defined Ombre Ombre was everywhere in 2013, so it’s no surprise to see it cropping back up in 2014’s spring/summer collections. This year, though, it’s time for a fun revision… we’ll continuing our affair with graduating colour but in clearly-defined blocks, this time, rather than a soft bleed. That gentle fade from light into dark or from one shade to another is still present, but with visible boundaries for a punchy effect.

Stick to colours from the same family and ensure the progression is smooth, rather than putting randomly-chosen colours next to one another. These defined ombre buys are a good starting point if you’re stuck for ideas.
