Fenton Art and Design was launched late in 2012 by Steve Chapman and Cherry Anderson who both have strong backgrounds in film and design. Their aim was to create varied, striking and colourful designs and quality products while supporting emerging artists at the start of their careers. In short, the retail textiles and home accessories that they produce are inspired by contemporary fine art but reinterpreted by looking for interesting themes or elements within the original art in order to create their own designs.
Their current collections include Little Angel, Highly Strung and Evolution.
Little Angel is inspired by the art of Charles Robinson. It's a bright and summery graphic collection with a palette of yellow, blue and grey. It uses the shapes found within the painting to created two prints; a soft and subtle lace design and clouds, a fun and playful print.
Highly Strung is inspired Problem Child (also by Charles Robinson). It's a contemporary twist on a classic floral design. It uses the complex circles of the original art with a rich palette of pink, jade and red. There are two designs - Rose and Floral.
Evolution is inspired by Exotic Construction with Mangoes by artist Haroun Haward. It is a decadent collection with a palette of plum and olive. There are two designs - Reconstruction and Fragments.
