For me, the countdown to Christmas is often more exciting than the day itself. The making of lists and ferreting away of presents. The careful wrapping (with a glass of fizz and Nat King Cole) and the building of excitement for the gifts you can't wait to give. A key part of that countdown is of course an advent calendar and this year, rather than buying the usual Cadbury's one, I'll be buying one to last. I rather like the idea of creating a new Christmas tradition with a re-usable, well crafted calendar that you can fill with your favourite treats. Here are my favourite finds:
These gorgeous, rusty advent buckets from Sage, Inspired by Life (£27)
These advent library cards from The Spotted Sparrow (£29.75). You obviously couldn't pop treats in here however how about using the card to give a clue and turn it into a daily festive treasure hunt?
And finally, this gorgeous advent village from The Contemporary Home (£49.99)
Now - the crucial question - what would you fill yours with? Mine'll be filled with Galaxy Celebrations and Charbonnel & Walker truffles (Christmas calories don't count...right?)
