This lovely, light, London apartment is the latest project from Claire Topham & Co Interior Design. It's a small space, but we love the way it's flooded with light from the windows in the roof and how the pops of colour really jump out of the otherwise muted palette of white and greys.
Tell us a little bit about your company.
We are an architectural interior design practice working for clients in Sussex and west London. We undertake all aspects of property refurbishment from interior design, planning applications to managing the building works. We use our creative skills to design properties that reflect our clients tastes and needs.
Where is this particular project situated?
Fulham, in west London.
Tell us a little bit about the property.
It's an apartment which is an extension, on the back of a typical London town house. Its position gives a lovely secluded feel to the property. The key feature is the great open plan living/kitchen area.
Tell us a little bit about your clients.
My client is an Australian lady living and working in the UK for a while this was her first UK purchase.
What was the client brief?
She wanted to really put her own stamp on it and have us create something unique for her.
How big a job was it?
This was a mid-scale project, we retained some existing elements but a lot if items including the kitchen were a full refurbishment.
With this project, what are you most proud of?
The open plan living area works really well. The wall of tiles unite the area whilst lighting has been used to define the different zones of the room.
What was the client’s reaction to the finished project?
She was thrilled with the outcome and delighted that we were able to take so much of the stress out of the renovation by managing things well.
What are you working on now?
We're working on a fantastic 4 bedroom regency apartment overlooking the sea in Hove, it needs some TLC and we're looking forward to putting a modern edge whilst retaining its historic charm.
