Wallpaper Collection Inspired by Wes Anderson Movies

MuralsWallpaper have released a curated selection of wallpaper designs that form the Anderson Aesthetic collection. The collection is inspired by Wes Anderson's most popular movies, and lets lovers of the director's distinct style feel as though they've stepped straight into the whimsical world of Wes.

Inspired by the quirky and beloved interior design style found in the filmography of Wes Anderson, the Anderson Aesthetic collection features a vintage-feel butterfly pattern, a striking jungle tiger design with detailed paint textures, and pastel panelling influenced by camp design and art nouveau.

With Anderson's 50th birthday on 1st May approaching, and upcoming new film The French Dispatch in progress, MuralsWallpaper feel the collection's launch is a fitting homage to the work the director has produced so far in his career, in celebration of the movies the world has come to adore.

Achieve the Anderson Aesthetic

The wallpaper designs of the Anderson Aesthetic collection offer the opportunity to capture three distinct, swoon-worthy styles in the home. The murals celebrate the director's stylistic choices that have captivated the world, and provide an easy way to make any room look like a Wes Anderson movie brought to life.

The wallpapers weave the nostalgia of the movies in with modern design trends, such as insect and botanical curiosities, bold and bright tropicals, maximalism and ever chic dusty pink. This collection is perfect for people who have an appreciation for the Anderson aesthetic, and want to use wallpaper to craft an eccentrically stylish space at home.

Exotic New Homewares From A New Tribe

From their Chatsworth Road store in London, A New Tribe brings together an eclectic, curated mix of interiors objects and textiles from across the globe – representing countries like Morocco, the USA, India, and as far east as Japan. As well as featuring homeware from lands afar, they also celebrate talent closer to home, stocking artists, designers, and makers from London and elsewhere in the UK. Everything in their store is sourced from independent designers and small brands, and selected for the ethos and care that goes into each item, as well as the design. If you’re into handmade and small batch production, this is the place for you.

A New Tribe are also proudly home to ‘The Rug Trade’, a one-stop-shop for all your Boucherouite, Azilal and Beni Ourain needs. It includes rare vintage finds, and newly designed rugs all made by hand using traditional techniques in Morocco.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that everything here was made far away in exotic lands - reminiscent of goods sold on ancient trade routes. While some do indeed hale from North Africa, Morocco in particular, others are sourced closer to home from London and Bristol - who would guess?

Ella Jones is the master of selecting items that radiate a worldly feel, and placing genuine antique pieces amongst them that have been discovered and brought from overseas - completing the illusion. Amongst the Moroccan gems sit treasures from London-based Milo Made, as well as ceramics made by Sophie Alda who resides in Bristol.

Morocco

Ella needed extra baggage-allowance to bring all of these goodies home, fresh from the Souks of Morocco. The selection oozes decorative and ornate decadence, with hand painted pattern-work and intricately carved detailing featured throughout. There's also a smattering of utility here, afforded by the rattan storage containers that come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Even the carved wooden stool provides a perfect vantage point for some of your potted plants!

[A New Tribe] Painted antique vases, from £60.jpg

London

Nestled in the South-East corner of the exotic island-nation that is England, you'll find the bustling city of London. These abstract, clay face planters and mug come from the ceramics studio Milo Made, who are based here. Sip your morning coffee while enjoying a fresh, floral display on table.

The sculptural, ceramic vessels below are hand built and would make decadent vases or candle holders. Made by Haar East, otherwise known as Sarah Jeffrey, who is based in East London.

Bristol

Head west and you'll find the port city of Bristol, where ceramicist Sophie Alda calls home. These blush pink and vibrant blue 'rocket' vases would look equally at home in one of the palaces of Marrakech.

The wide, stable bottom tapers up into a narrower opening at the top, still allowing room to display some greenery.

Bethan Gray Launches Exploring Eden

A sustainable furniture collection with NATURE SQUARED

Bethan Gray is delighted to announce a new partnership with Nature Squared who have been at the cutting-edge of sustainability and social responsibility for 18 years.

unnamed-18.jpg

‘When I met Nature Squared co-founders Paul Hoeve and Lay Koon Tan, I knew we were kindred spirits as soon as I heard their story and realised how passionate they are about nurturing craft. The opportunity to work with these incredible materials, and apply them to furniture for the first time, has been really exciting, especially as it will bring Nature Squared’s work to the attention of a wider audience and expand their stewardship of Filipino craftspeople in the Philippines ’  -  Bethan Gray

With a shared commitment to natural materials, nurturing artisanal craft and sustainability, Nature Squared and Bethan Gray are both thrilled to showcase their ground-breaking Exploring Eden collection of furniture and accessories to the public for the very first time.

unnamed-15.jpg

After significant research and development, Nature Squared have diligently created new engineering solutions that merge traditional artisanal skills with precision furniture making and exquisite design. The inlay process for each item takes many weeks to complete due to the intricate detailing and high quality finish – and the results are unlike anything that has ever been created for the furniture market before.

unnamed-16.jpg

Utilising nature’s finest and most beguiling materials, this collaboration brings Bethan Gray’s highly innovative and elegant designs to fruition.

The collection consists of a capiz shell shelving unit, jade and pheasant feather lounge chairs, pearl shell cylindrical stools, with the hero items including a scallop shell table and a pen shell coffee table.

‘Exploration is at the heart of everything Nature Squared and I do. The Exploring Eden collection of furniture and accessories is our first expression of our shared passion for discovery, experimentation and pushing the limits of natural materials. Our journey has only just begun’  -  Bethan Gray

Lee Broom's Park Life Show Debuts New Eclipse Collection

Lee Broom has created one of his most significant landmark exhibitions to date with ‘Park Life’. Presented with Space Furniture in Australia, the showcase is set within the urban surroundings of an underground car park. The 4,000 square feet presentation is the largest show Lee Broom has created.

Lens Flair Chess Board

Lens Flair Chess Board

The British designer has transformed the industrial car park and created a contemporary interpretation of a traditional garden park.  ‘Park Life’ takes the form of a maze, which guides guests on a poetic journey of discovery through hidden passageways, featuring 16 tableaus and vignettes showcasing the brand’s lighting, furniture and accessories in a whole new light.

The exhibition is inspired by the pleasure gardens of the 18th century which were laid out with mazes and miniature waterways.  These were the places to be seen and to see the latest in art, architecture, music and illuminations.  In much the same way that visitors were entertained in pleasure gardens centuries ago, this modernist interpretation creates a sense of escapism, amusement and drama for which Lee Broom’s shows are best-known for.

Moon x National Trust

Introducing the brand new Moon x National Trust collection. Inspired by properties in the Trust’s care, the fine wools bring patterns from historic archives to modern interiors. Woven in Yorkshire to the highest standard sat the Moon vertical mill, the fabric designs & colours represent a uniquely British collaboration.

Moon Design Director, Martin Aveyard comments; “Many of the designs contained with in the National Trust by Moon collection take their lead from one of the Trust’s many textile displays. for example, comprises of an array of plaid patterns which have been rescaled by the Moon in house design team with upholstered furniture pieces in mind. Snowshill’s costumes (collected by Charles Wade) and decorative mantel piece accessories from Arlington Hall also contributed to the overall look and feel of the finished fabric range. The chosen colour palette was pieced together using more abstract thinking–everything from tiled floors, mosaics, rugs, and other distinctive architectural features were considered, mood-boarded and then matched up to a selection of our own unique blended yarns. The nine strongest colour groups were selected to be woven at the historic Moonmill, resulting in a full collection of 33 distinctive wool fabrics.

New Colours for 2019 by Crown Paints

From both ends of the colour spectrum, Crown Paints previews fresh colours for the new year. The just-launched palette introduces an almost-black shade, a mature chartreuse and a rich terracotta to its existing colour collection.

Judy Smith, Colour Crown Consultant, on Powdered Clay:

“Taking inspiration from earth minerals and shell clay, this is a colour that evokes warmth and reassurance, creating a calming environment. The soft pastel palette works well with other chalky hues, or for a pop of colour bright oranges and reds will add drama. For refinement introduce metallics in either paint accents or small homewares, for earthiness incorporate raw organic textures in soft furnishings and lighting.”

Crown’s Breatheasy® matt, silk and feature wall emulsion is now asthma and allergy friendly®. These Breatheasy® ranges have been scientifically proven to help create a healthier indoor environment and limit exposure to airborne triggers of asthma and allergies.

Iconic Van Gogh Paintings As Murals To Mark 130 Year Anniversary

2019 marks 130 years since Vincent Van Gogh created some of his most famous works in 1889, such as The Starry Night, Irises, Sunflowers and more. These wallpaper murals allow for Van Gogh's classic paintings to be experienced in interiors in great detail on a grand scale, resulting in a perfect way for fans to celebrate the Dutch artists' work and life.

Van Gogh's most famous paintings, which were created 130 years ago in 1889, have been made available as high quality, custom mural designs by MuralsWallpaper.

Hanging the works across a wall in any space, rather than as a small framed painting, turns the room into an instant work of beautiful art, as well as an homage to the world-renowned painter.

The beloved paintings show Van Gogh's own perception of reality, and the expressive, moving power of these works can be enhanced as a large-scale wall mural.

The Starry Night, Irises and Sunflowers paintings feature bold, visible brushstrokes and vivid colour, making them perfect pieces for wall murals and dramatic decor ideas.

Countless animal looks can been seen prowling the runways and creeping onto home decor accent pieces, making it clear that animal print has become the biggest, boldest, and most obsessed-over trend this year. But design lovers need not shy away from the idea of animal print on walls with the introduction of this mural collection, which sees classic animal prints painted as minimalist shapes with maximalist sizes.

Lee Broom Presents Landmark Exhibition in Sydney, Australia

2019 sees leading British designer Lee Broom create one of his most significant landmark exhibitions to date with a presentation with Space Furniture in Australia. The installation is entitled ‘Park Life’ and will showcase for two weeks in March in Sydney.  Set within an underground car park below the flagship showroom of Space Furniture, the 4,000 square feet presentation will be the largest show Lee Broom has created.

Lee Broom_Park Life Visual_Entrance to Maze.jpg

Employing the urban surroundings of the location, Lee Broom will transform the industrial car park and create a contemporary interpretation of a traditional garden park.  Taking the form of a maze, ‘Park Life’ will take guests on a poetic journey of discovery through hidden passageways, with tableaus and vignettes showcasing the brand’s lighting, furniture and accessories in a whole new light.

The exhibition takes inspiration from the pleasure gardens of the 18th century which were laid out with mazes and miniature waterways.  These were the places to be seen and to see the latest in art, architecture, music and illuminations.  In much the same way that visitors were entertained in pleasure gardens centuries ago, this modernist interpretation will create a sense of escapism, amusement and drama for which Lee Broom’s shows are best-known for.

In line with the brand’s continuing global expansion, Lee Broom will also be undertaking a tour of the region for the whole month of March and present a series of Design Talks in Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand coinciding with Singapore and Melbourne Design Weeks.

NEW PRODUCTS – ECLIPSE IN POLISHED GOLD FINISH

The Park Life installation at Space in Sydney will debut a new version of Lee Broom’s award-winning Eclipse lights in a polished gold finish. Eclipse has a sculptural silhouette with a mobile-like quality that changes at every angle. Mirror-polished gold and acrylic discs interact, dissect and obscure, which both eclipses and reveals its illumination to the viewer at the same time. The new gold finish transforms the light into a warmer, softer interpretation of the original polished chrome finish. Eclipse in polished gold will be available as a single pendant light, chandelier and a table lamp available to order from April for delivery in Summer 2019.

Mini Moderns Launch Culture! Collection.

2019 sees the launch of a new wallpaper collection from Mini Moderns. The Culture! collection of 8 designs draws upon their love of mid century art, design and architecture… and much more.

Mini Moderns founders Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire often cite culture and social History as great influences on their work. Whilst they’re particularly known for their love of mid century design for this collection Mark and Keith have cast their net wider drawing on their fascination with everything from modernist architecture to the aesthetic movement of the late 19th century from ceramic collections to the 1951 Festival of Britain.

Mark and Keith explain “We set off designing this collection with a ‘back to our roots’ Philosophy. Along the way we found ourselves opening up to a broader range of influences than ever before”

The Culture! collection has also offered the opportunity for the design duo to rekindle some of the partnerships they have formed with museums and cultural organisations including Southbank Centre the Geffrye and Museum of London.

The result is a diverse collection, unified by their distinctive handwriting and signature colour palette. The duo agree “There really is something for all Mini Moderns fans in this collection – from the more recognizable mid century inspired designs to some surprises and new departures’.

The 8 new wallpapers in the collection are:

Net & Ball: Created in collaboration with Southbank Centre this design is based on the Royal Festival Hall carpet, designed in 1951 by Peter Moro and Leslie Martin.

Vessel: An eclectic array of vases and jugs adorns this wallpaper, inspired by the Geffrye’s diverse ceramics collection.

Lucky Lantern: A Chinese lantern design, inspired by the Eastern styles prevalent in the aesthetic movement, as displayed in the Geffrye’s 1890 drawing room.
