Lee Broom's Park Life Show Debuts New Eclipse Collection

Lee Broom has created one of his most significant landmark exhibitions to date with ‘Park Life’. Presented with Space Furniture in Australia, the showcase is set within the urban surroundings of an underground car park. The 4,000 square feet presentation is the largest show Lee Broom has created.

Lens Flair Chess Board

Lens Flair Chess Board

The British designer has transformed the industrial car park and created a contemporary interpretation of a traditional garden park.  ‘Park Life’ takes the form of a maze, which guides guests on a poetic journey of discovery through hidden passageways, featuring 16 tableaus and vignettes showcasing the brand’s lighting, furniture and accessories in a whole new light.

The exhibition is inspired by the pleasure gardens of the 18th century which were laid out with mazes and miniature waterways.  These were the places to be seen and to see the latest in art, architecture, music and illuminations.  In much the same way that visitors were entertained in pleasure gardens centuries ago, this modernist interpretation creates a sense of escapism, amusement and drama for which Lee Broom’s shows are best-known for.

Moon x National Trust

Introducing the brand new Moon x National Trust collection. Inspired by properties in the Trust’s care, the fine wools bring patterns from historic archives to modern interiors. Woven in Yorkshire to the highest standard sat the Moon vertical mill, the fabric designs & colours represent a uniquely British collaboration.

Moon Design Director, Martin Aveyard comments; “Many of the designs contained with in the National Trust by Moon collection take their lead from one of the Trust’s many textile displays. for example, comprises of an array of plaid patterns which have been rescaled by the Moon in house design team with upholstered furniture pieces in mind. Snowshill’s costumes (collected by Charles Wade) and decorative mantel piece accessories from Arlington Hall also contributed to the overall look and feel of the finished fabric range. The chosen colour palette was pieced together using more abstract thinking–everything from tiled floors, mosaics, rugs, and other distinctive architectural features were considered, mood-boarded and then matched up to a selection of our own unique blended yarns. The nine strongest colour groups were selected to be woven at the historic Moonmill, resulting in a full collection of 33 distinctive wool fabrics.

New Colours for 2019 by Crown Paints

From both ends of the colour spectrum, Crown Paints previews fresh colours for the new year. The just-launched palette introduces an almost-black shade, a mature chartreuse and a rich terracotta to its existing colour collection.

Judy Smith, Colour Crown Consultant, on Powdered Clay:

“Taking inspiration from earth minerals and shell clay, this is a colour that evokes warmth and reassurance, creating a calming environment. The soft pastel palette works well with other chalky hues, or for a pop of colour bright oranges and reds will add drama. For refinement introduce metallics in either paint accents or small homewares, for earthiness incorporate raw organic textures in soft furnishings and lighting.”

Crown’s Breatheasy® matt, silk and feature wall emulsion is now asthma and allergy friendly®. These Breatheasy® ranges have been scientifically proven to help create a healthier indoor environment and limit exposure to airborne triggers of asthma and allergies.

Iconic Van Gogh Paintings As Murals To Mark 130 Year Anniversary

2019 marks 130 years since Vincent Van Gogh created some of his most famous works in 1889, such as The Starry Night, Irises, Sunflowers and more. These wallpaper murals allow for Van Gogh's classic paintings to be experienced in interiors in great detail on a grand scale, resulting in a perfect way for fans to celebrate the Dutch artists' work and life.

Van Gogh's most famous paintings, which were created 130 years ago in 1889, have been made available as high quality, custom mural designs by MuralsWallpaper.

Hanging the works across a wall in any space, rather than as a small framed painting, turns the room into an instant work of beautiful art, as well as an homage to the world-renowned painter.

The beloved paintings show Van Gogh's own perception of reality, and the expressive, moving power of these works can be enhanced as a large-scale wall mural.

The Starry Night, Irises and Sunflowers paintings feature bold, visible brushstrokes and vivid colour, making them perfect pieces for wall murals and dramatic decor ideas.

Lee Broom_Park Life Visual_Entrance to Maze.jpg

Employing the urban surroundings of the location, Lee Broom will transform the industrial car park and create a contemporary interpretation of a traditional garden park.  Taking the form of a maze, ‘Park Life’ will take guests on a poetic journey of discovery through hidden passageways, with tableaus and vignettes showcasing the brand’s lighting, furniture and accessories in a whole new light.

NEW PRODUCTS – ECLIPSE IN POLISHED GOLD FINISH

The Park Life installation at Space in Sydney will debut a new version of Lee Broom’s award-winning Eclipse lights in a polished gold finish. Eclipse has a sculptural silhouette with a mobile-like quality that changes at every angle. Mirror-polished gold and acrylic discs interact, dissect and obscure, which both eclipses and reveals its illumination to the viewer at the same time. The new gold finish transforms the light into a warmer, softer interpretation of the original polished chrome finish. Eclipse in polished gold will be available as a single pendant light, chandelier and a table lamp available to order from April for delivery in Summer 2019.

Mini Moderns Launch Culture! Collection.

2019 sees the launch of a new wallpaper collection from Mini Moderns. The Culture! collection of 8 designs draws upon their love of mid century art, design and architecture… and much more.

Mini Moderns founders Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire often cite culture and social History as great influences on their work. Whilst they’re particularly known for their love of mid century design for this collection Mark and Keith have cast their net wider drawing on their fascination with everything from modernist architecture to the aesthetic movement of the late 19th century from ceramic collections to the 1951 Festival of Britain.

Mark and Keith explain “We set off designing this collection with a ‘back to our roots’ Philosophy. Along the way we found ourselves opening up to a broader range of influences than ever before”

The Culture! collection has also offered the opportunity for the design duo to rekindle some of the partnerships they have formed with museums and cultural organisations including Southbank Centre the Geffrye and Museum of London.

The result is a diverse collection, unified by their distinctive handwriting and signature colour palette. The duo agree “There really is something for all Mini Moderns fans in this collection – from the more recognizable mid century inspired designs to some surprises and new departures’.

The 8 new wallpapers in the collection are:

Lorena Canals will present at the next edition of Maison & Objet, Paris, 18-22 January, her three new collections of washable rugs and decorative accessories: Tribute to Cotton, English Gardens, and Lobster.

The collections will also be presented at NY Now, New York, 3-6 February, and at Intergift, Madrid, 6-10 February.

C-COT-FLOWER_15.jpg

C-GARDEN-ASH_7.jpg

Elegance: The English Gardens collection is inspired by the richness of colors and textures experienced in English botanical gardens, which captivated the designer as a child. Nature teaches us the importance of small details, and this point is highlighted by the elaborate finishes in this collection and the introduction of a new type of handmade knotted fringe.  This collection has the largest number of accessories, comprising of baskets, a puff and garlands in pink, mauve and white with renewed and elegant floral designs

C-MINILOB-XS_13.jpg

Joy: As a loyal lobster lover and all things maritime, Lorena Canals launches a fun, marine style collection: the Lobster collection.  Having grown up by the sea, Lorena Canals has turned her childhood memories into fun carpets and wall hangings, with matching baskets and door hangers, in intense red and natural tones with textures that seem sprinkled by the wind and sea water and softened by the white sand.

Lorena Canals’ award-winning designs have garnered international attention for being modern & stylish, yet practical & safe for children.

Her fair-trade products are handmade by expert craftsman in India, who use raw materials of the best quality. Their rigorous artisanal process produces environmentally friendly, machine washable rugs and decorative accessories made from natural cotton.  All designs are hand stitched and dyed with natural, non-toxic dyes, to ensure durability after washing.

C.P. Hart x 2LG Studio Exclusive Collaboration

The London-based Interior Design company, 2LG Studio, were chosen to interpret C.P. Hart’s 2019 bathroom trends with an exclusive installation. The creative duo, Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, created a powerful and palpable room-set in red and pink that combines new finishes and bold products.

Working with the luxury bathroom retailer’s in-house team for several months, they produced a bespoke room-set for C.P. Hart’s flagship Waterloo showroom - revealed at C.P. Hart’s 2019 product launch in November.

CPH x 2LG Studio collaboration via C_P_ Hart blog.jpg

2LG Studio worked with the in-house team to pick cutting-edge products to produce the colourful bathroom design. The BetteLux Oval bath was custom made in pink for the first time to complete the dual-coloured scheme with the Rho basin from Kast in a matching hue. Fantini provides a dose of fun with its I Balocchi pop-art style brassware and freestanding shower in a custom all-red finish.

“Jordan and Russell have such a signature style and always embrace colour with a flair for mixing bright and muted tones, which makes this collaboration work so well. At C.P. Hart we have been championing the rising trend of colour in the bathroom for some time now, so it’s been great to work with designers who are not afraid of using a varied pallete and have ultimately created something bold for us.” Rachel Martin, Merchandising Director

CPH x 2LG Studio bathroom via C_P_ Hart blog.jpg

Bisazza’s Opus Romano Matt tiles in both pink and red pull this forward look together. “Red and pink is an iconic colour combo. It is a combo that has been in our minds for a long time and this was the perfect opportunity to experiment with it. Once we knew that Bisazza were on board too, we knew that their extensive range of colours in matt and gloss would give us the perfect opportunity to blend colours and create a jewellery box of a bathroom.” 2LG Studio.

CP Hart 2LG-4.jpg

With the help of Beck interiors, the set was designed with cut out moon shapes to encourage the viewer to move around the room and see it from new and unusual angles.

Speaking of the inspiration for the project, the studio cited the American fashion title Paper Magazine as a source of inspiration. “It had the most incredible red and pink cover the month we sat down to create the concepts. We also have a passion for Italian design and for movies. We couldn't be more excited about it and it has been a big influence on the design of the installation.” 2LG Studio.

The collaboration is part of C.P. Hart’s dedicated activity to bring consumers the latest in product and interior design. The bathroom specialist has always been at the forefront of bathroom design, showcasing brands from around the world, regularly for the first time in the UK.

The room-set will be on display in the C.P. Hart Waterloo showroom throughout 2019. C.P. Hart will also be showcasing the latest collections in its gallery space, which includes new designs from Bisazza, Bette, Scavolini and more. C.P. Hart also issued its Trend Report for 2019, which is now available to press.

C.P. Hart are also proud to welcome Graham & Brown to the showroom as two wallpapers from its collaboration with 2LG has been used within the showroom space, Felt Tip Pink and Buckley Pink.

Muralswallpaper Celebrates Pantone's Colour of the Year 2019

Celebrating Pantone's Colour of the Year for 2019, MuralsWallpaper have created a very fitting mural design that embodies the inviting optimism and energy of 'Living Coral'.

Expect a refreshing sense of vibrancy and vitality to infuse interiors in 2019 with the new Colour of the Year. A stand-out wall drenched in Living Coral is an ideal way to incorporate the trend-worthy tone into the home, and this wallpaper puts it to work with a playful mix of coral design and the punchy Pantone colour.

Reconnect with a room through joyful colour

This lively shade has stayed hidden like coral beneath the reef for long enough, being used in decor only to add a small pop of colour to a minimal space. But now chimes the time for this energetic colour to take centre stage and be the cause of waves of joy in interiors.

Living Coral is an uplifting shade that celebrates connected life, and is influenced by the vital role of coral in the marine ecosystem. The new Colour of the Year takes a fond look at nature's beauty and highlights the importance of preserving it, so it's good to know that MuralsWallpaper paper is sustainably sourced and uses only eco-friendly, water-based inks.
