A touch of Greek class - gorgeous terracotta urns by Pots & Pithoi

A couple of years ago I treated myself to a terracotta urn from Pots and Pithoi. It took me ages to choose which one I was going to take away, for the sole reason that they were all so gorgeous.

I lived in Greece years ago and I think that’s one of the reasons why I love terracotta so much...it reminds me of good times!

All the pots and urns are handmade by local family run businesses in Crete in the same way they were made back in the early Bronze Age. Fired in a kiln fuelled with olive stones and grape pips, the temperature reaches 1150°c and this makes each pot truly authentic.

Pots and Pithoi is located in Sussex and it’s well worth a detour if you’re in the area. Tara Bowles, the owner is normally there to greet you and her passion for what she does is infectious. Often there’s tea, coffee and cake on offer too!

Whatever space you have in your garden, there will be a pot to fit. The biggest challenge you’ll have is choosing which one to take away with you as, being handmade, each pot is individual and each one has its own charm.

Tara also sells a selection of gifts, an indoor living range and selection of beautiful hand woven rugs....if you don’t get tempted by one of the pots, you certainly won’t be able to resist buying something from the gift shop!
