Do you sometimes wish you could visit all of the design fairs and never miss a thing? We know we do. It would be lovely to travel the globe looking at beautiful and innovative design but most of us have to spend some time in the office, and have to get our fix from press articles (often after the event) and blogs (with posts that are vibrant, dynamic and exciting, but sometimes as chaotic as the shows themselves).
Well hopefully now there will be a publication that will take a step back, take a pause and offer some critical analysis that starts to make sense of it all because Confessions of a design geek's Katie Treggiden and MagCulture's Jeremy Leslie are launching Fiera, a biannual independent print magazine discovering new talent at the world's design fairs, via Kickstarter.
Whether you’re a designer, a buyer, a journalist, a student, or a design enthusiast, who’d love to be at every fair, meeting new designers and unearthing new trends for yourself. Fiera will make you feel as if you were. Covering London, Eindhoven, Lodz and Prague, the first issue will be published in November 2014 with an expected circulation of 1,000. The campaign launched on Sunday 22 June with a target of £14,000. As of 29th June, it had already raised a whopping £4,666, following a successful launch event at The New Craftsmen in Mayfair, attended by over 100 members of the design industry.
The magazine is available to pre-order via Kickstarter until 2.59pm on 16 July 2014.
