Mintprint is a homewares company, set up by designer Miriam Trent, producing beautiful lampshades and cushions, all printed by hand in the UK.
Miriam creates her patterns using pencil and graphite drawings and shapes cut from paper, and then screen-prints her fabric. Her patterns are bold and simple, and I love the strong abstract shapes and the mid-century influence which shines through. Her signature look earned her the fantastic opportunity to design the fabric for the new BBC offices in Salford Quays.
Miriam says her work is designed to be an antidote to mass-produced, throwaway products, and I reckon you wouldn't want to get rid of any of her products in a hurry!
You can buy cushions and lampshades via the Mintprint website, and the lampshades are also on show at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park shop over the summer. You can follow Mintprint on twitter and facebook, and contact Miriam directly via email.
