At Mumo, design is definitely the focus.
Their first collection Leblon, was inspired by Rio de Janeiro's urban-beach lifestyle, and was the result of a competition run in conjunction with Chelsea College of Art judged by Wallpaper Magazine, Heal's and WGSN. The collection was first retailed through a pop-up shop at Harrods in the summer 2011 and since then the brand has gone from strength to strength taking on clients such as Louis Vuitton International and ABC Home & Carpet, New York.
The collection for 2013 was inspired by the 'Tropicalia' movement that defined Brazilian Art and music in the late 60's and 70's.
All of their products are produced sustainably and are inspired by the local art and culture from the regions where the fabrics are made. In this way they aim to give the design conscious home-lover the chance to help build trade with small-scale producers and bring their unique products into all of our homes.
You can visit Mumo at 91 Brick lane, Old Truman Brewery, London, E1 6QL and they are also available at House of Fraser as well as online.
