Lelievre and Jean Paul Gaultier have collaborated since the signing of a licence agreement between the two brands in 2012. So far there have been 4 collections of fabrics and accessories developed through the craftsmanship of Lelievre and the talent of fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
The inspirations, Oxydation, Azulejos, Botanique, the celebrated marinière stripe and the spirit of Paris are all recognisable areas of expression used by Jean Paul Gaultier and played out in the motifs of the fabrics and accessories.
The year 2017 will mark a turning point in the historyof Lelievre with the launch of the first wallpapercollection under the name ‘Jean Paul Gaultier by Lelievre’
The collection shows Jean Paul Gaultier’s most iconic designs and the wallpapers are produced by European manufacturers using the latest printing technology.
The wallpapers include a brazen flock stripe, QUIBERON, the romantic soaring swallows of HIRONDELLES and full-blown roses of FLAMBOYANT.
PORTO is a tribute to hand painted tiles and VERT DE GRIS is a masterpiece of oxidised raw metal decay. There are graphic checks and stripes for BASQUE and a shadowy landscape with silhouetted trees for BRUME. ENLACES and RECREATION explore toiles de Jouy style with elegance and a background of sprinkled stars.
HORIMONO uses pen and ink tattoo style drawing as does IRESUMI but with the addition of brilliant colour; ERNEST showcases graffiti tags with flock highlights; while CARAMBOLAGE and CESAR show the classic Gaultier design of crushed metal in colour and monochrome metallic. There is also a plain leather effect wallpaper, EMBOSSE, which works with all the other designs.
In total there are 15 designs and 42 colors for this remarkable first wallpaper collection.
The Jean Paul Gaultier by Lelievre wallpaper collection will be distributed exclusively by Lelievre from January 2017.
