This spring, Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) launches Ella Doran for YSP, a new product range by award-winning designer Ella Doran, celebrating the Park’s 40th anniversary. The bespoke collection, featuring two different designs, includes an apron, cushion, tea towel and chopping board and is available exclusively from YSP Shop.
Innovative designer Ella Doran visited YSP throughout the seasons, documenting every aspect of the Park through her own sketched impressions and photography, in order to create two unique ranges inspired by its 500-acre landscape.
Doran returns to YSP in 2018 for her solo exhibition From Sheep to Seat (10 March–10 June 2018). The designer will showcase the transformational tale of the wool in her most ambitious project to date. From Sheep to Seat follows the journey of YSP sheep wool, from shearing to scouring and designing to spinning, to create a display of beautiful bespoke furniture, furnishings and photographic prints. A homage to local products, suppliers and processes, the exhibition shines a light on the importance of the circular economy in reducing waste and sustaining livelihoods and traditions.
YSP has led successful exhibitions with some of the UK’s best-known artists and designers including Mark Hearld, Angie Lewin, Emily Sutton and Rob Ryan. YSP Shop showcases original work by international artists and contemporary designers and makers.
