Kids Vinyl Flooring

Flooring inspired by school subjects lets kids express themselves with interior design.

A lot of kids would rather stay and play at home than go to school, but school is the place where they get to discover and develop their interests without realising it, like a new sport or favourite artist.

The Atrafloor kids range has been created with bringing children's interests and design trends to the home in mind, so there is an exciting assortment of flooring designs to choose from that reflect how kids like to have fun, their favourite hobbies and what they want to do when they grow up - all inspired by school subjects.

Constellations is a floor that will captivate the smallest of stargazers, Mimi is a hand-painted flower design ideal for budding artists, and Primary is a floor inspired by a circuit board that a little computer whizz will think is too cool for school.

The Football flooring is for sports fanatics, Algebra is a subtle graph paper design for brainy kids and Contour, inspired by topographic maps, along theJurassic floor of exciting dinosaur fossils, will excite mini explorers and curious children.

Children's interests are more than just what they study in school, they're a part of their daily life and personality. These designs bring something more unique and cheerful to a child's place of play, study and sleep at home that they can really enjoy.

Ignite their imagination through their interior design with decor inspired by the school subjects they love.

Matisse 150 Year Birthday Celebrations Continue with Blue Nude Inspired Murals

Curves and contours come together in the second cutout collection by MuralsWallpaper in celebration of 150 years of Matisse this December.

MuralsWallpaper round up their celebration of 150 years since the birth of Henri Matisse with the reveal of three designs inspired by the artist's famous ‘Blue Nudes’ series. This is the second of two collections by MuralsWallpaper marking the noteworthy anniversary, the first collection being Naive Shapes launched in May this year.

Figure - chair shot.jpg

The new Human Form collection of designs adopts Matisse's iconic cutout technique but adapts it to create soft, curved figures, complementing the current trend of depicting the human body as abstract art in design and interior decor. The largely neutral color palette of the murals combined with the large scale motifs result in a statement wall that manages to be gentle on the eyes and is a development of the aesthetic launched as part of the Scribble Faces mural collection in 2018.

Pose - lifestyle image.jpg

With the trending earth inspired and drool-worthy tones of terracotta as the base palette, the murals also work in a blue tone WGSN are calling ‘Electric Night’, as ‘a bridge between digital and natural references’. The blue is both a nod to the ‘Blue Nudes’ series and to the modern desire for surprising but liveable color combinations.

Posture - lifestyle image.jpg

The peaceful figures within the murals are arranged in a way that is suggestive of yoga, using restful, simple poses that lend the designs a soothing aura. The styling of the murals in perfectly proportioned, pink powder rooms reflects how application of color, pattern and texture (alongside a growing confidence for individual expression in interiors), is slowly transforming what bathroom decor is to the modern home.

Annie Sloan Launches New Oxford Navy

This Autumn/ Winter, fine artist, author, colour expert and innovator Annie Sloan launches Oxford Navy, a new addition to the Chalk Paint™ palette. Taking its name from Oxford University’s insignia, the new shade also doffs a cap to Annie Sloan’s Oxford headquarters, where Chalk Paint™ is manufactured.

Smart and sophisticated on its own, the deep, inky blue is useful as a grounding colour in a playful midcentury palette, or as part of a more formal scheme. “My Oxford Navy is deeply indebted to the saturated blue synonymous with traditional Indian block printing, to elegant nineteenth century military uniforms and of course, the ink of generations of student’s fountain pens,” explains Annie. Joining the iconic Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan collection of mixable decorative paints, Oxford Navy offers a velvety matt finish and can be applied to almost any surface - including furniture, walls and floors - without priming or sanding.

The Tie Dye Takeover Comes to Wallpaper for Summer

Tie dye is back on the design scene making waves in the fashion industry, and these radical tie dye wallpapers are bringing the revamped style to the home in a modern, zestful way.

Opinion-dividing design

Searches for tie dye have increased by nearly 200% since the beginning of the year, making it one of the most sought after fashion styles of 2019. Prada, Stella McCartney, Chloé and Dior are only a few of the designer fashion brands that have been launching the trend to massive popularity with creative runway pieces that revive tie dye.

And now, after just entering the world of food and drink with the Starbucks tie dye frappuccino release, the opinion-dividing design is also moving into modern interiors in a fittingly eye-catching way with this bold collection of wall designs by MuralsWallpaper.

Punchy, vivid colours inspired by acid washes are elevating tie dye and making it look fresh for its comeback this year. The bright colours of these murals move away from garish festival colour combos of centuries past, and into a lush style that feels rejuvenated with currently coveted colours.

Ice cold tie dye

These daring wall designs by MuralsWallpaper have been created using ice, rather than the expected tied cloth pieces. In this method, dye is dusted over ice as its sitting on the fabric and then left to work its magic as it melts. The result is something a bit different from traditional tie dye that makes the iconic look more liveable for a home.

The dye designs for these wall murals were created by hand to hold on to the organic, hand-crafted appeal of tie dye. The reason that many suspect tie dye and custom-made murals are exciting the design world right now is that people want something more one-of-a-kind for their wardrobe and home.

This collection is ideal for daring decorators with a passion for colour, flair and the bold. But even homeowners who would usually be very safe and minimal with their interiors can seize this chance to embrace the joyous return of nostalgic tie dye, with a now more high-design identity.

Love it or loathe it, tie dye is back in a big way.

The Peace and Festival murals are £36.00 per square metre.

Bert & May Launches Eco-Friendly Paint Collection

Bert & May has launched a new environmentally-friendly paint collection with 48 shades inspired by the Earth’s natural palette. The paints have a rich and chalky finish, and the colours complement Bert & May’s full range of products – including the handmade tile collections, basins and kitchens.

Paint Pot Group_24_1.jpg

The majority of our pigments are naturally derived and create the muted, chalky tone for which we are known; much softer than anything synthetic and mass-produced. This is a principle which is not only a very important part of our aesthetic but also to our responsibility to the environment.

Available in Eco-emulsion, Limewash and Eggshell, each colour has 4 variations of shade, achieved through blending different strengths of the same pigment; the more pigment added, the deeper and richer the colour.

‘We believe that colour has a huge impact on how you feel and live and so it is important to choose those which will not only enrich your interior but also create the right mood. And in telling our own colour story, we also wanted to share the individual connotations and origin of our palette; after all, we are all about the story in our products!’ Bert & May

Playful Pixel Flooring Inspired by the Return of 8-Bit Art

Atrafloor's fun new collection captures trending pixelated design in the form of a modern vinyl flooring named Censor.

Inspired by 8-bit colour graphics and game aesthetics that have a beloved nostalgic quality, Censorbrings this style to flooring for the first time and joins in on the trend that's proving the passion for pixel design isn't dead.

Contemporary indie games can be said to be leading the way in popularising the pixelated look again, with some big games adopting an intentionally simplistic pixel stye. And its influences are fast making their way into modern design and interiors.

This flooring from Atrafloor is a creative alternative to traditional tiles, with perfectly placed pixel squares that resonate with both retro and futuristic feelings.

The range includes a bright multi-coloured version that will be particularly exciting for kids, as well as more subtle colour palettes that will work well in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms.
